Normally you would just ask a stylist to layer your hair.

Really it is all about the style. You either curl it or straighten it. Now is you like doing stuff easy you could probably just use some hairspray to get the staight/wavy look. But, if you have something special like a date, party, etcetera go for the curly hair.
