Help Please..Getting Hair Cut Tomorrow?

Ok..ive received a gift of a friend and when she goes to get her hair cut she is also taking me free of charge so i dont have to pay at all so while ive got the chance i really want something nice..ive always wanted this hairstyle for a while now

Where hers is all short at the top that is how i want it etc my hair atm is about middle back but where as on the picture she has it just above her shoulders i still want my kinda medium/long but the top short like her on the picture does anybody know what sort of style they call this ?? im having trouble finding a suitable picture could someone please help as i need it for tomorrow

The picture doesn't work, but I'm thinking layering maybe ? That's how mine's is. A little higher than mid-back and my bangs %26amp; some more are cut to my chin, it's really pretty.
