my hair is darker brown not black but darker than like medium brown.. wat color should i dye it i was thinking about highlights...i dont kno wat color...maybe blonde..maybe not i need help...my hair is cut medium length with layers..help please

I you do not have a lot of time/money then I would suggest some peek a boo hilites.. they are hilites that are put under your natural part line.. any good hairdresser should know what the word means.... the up keep on this is minimal. yes you will have outgroth but no one will see tit!!!! if you do not mind spending money/time on your hair then consider a full head of "natural" highlites.. very fine sections of a HUE that is only 2-3 shades lighter than your natural color!! These are great summer colors and should blend right in with your layers. I have also seen where the layers underneath are being left dark and the top layers (from the crown) are being dyed lighter, and/or highlighted.

Try a light brown with platnum highlights or ash highlights. Sounds like you have a great hair cut. Change the color and you will be glowing. I would go light brown with super blonde highlights. I have been doing an auburn gloss (different from a permanent color, it is actually a deep conditioner that also deposits color...cannot lighten though). It creates a beautiful color, especially in the sun, but still natural. I have also added some honey/caramel colored highlights around the front and few strategic places to create a natural sun-kissed look. I hate fake looking hair, so if this is done right it will not look that way. The gloss will also make your hair very soft and shiny. I love glosses, I won't even use regular hair color. My mom is a cosmetologist, so she teaches me alot.

If you want something dramatic - do a 'double process' (this might be a bit harsh on your hair though) and do your hair a medium brown and then put light brown highlights in it.
Other than that - I agree with another user who said to put caramel highlights. It is pretty flattering - and is always a fallback on when you want to grow your hair out....
PS - don't get any bleach highlights! Ask for colored highlights and then have them put a gloss afterwards (or cellophane) so your hair is nice and shiny.
Also - check out that John Frieda Luminous Color glaze, keeps your hair really shiny and adding a bit of color each time.

If you go to a hair dresser and explain you need a change and you can deal with letting them do what they want you'll maybe be happier. I hate change and I just did that with getting my hair cut it was the best hair cut I have ever had. Hope this helps

Since your hair is already dark the burgundy wouldn't your dominate hair color. But it will show real good in the light and especially when you are out in the sun. This is the way I have my hair and I always get a lot of compliments about it.

If you eyes are dark brown to medium brown then I would advise no lighter than Carmel high-lites(unless dramatic is the look you are going for)or rich reds or red browns. If your eyes are light brown you can choose red, carmel or light blonde-same goes for green eyes. If your eyes are blue you need to look at the underlying"flecks"of color. Blue with brown?Carmel or darker. Blue with green? Your choice. Blue with purple or white? You can go very light. Ever since I ahve been a red-head/auburn. I've tried all different shades. You could start with a store bought color kit.Maybe a dark auburn to start %26amp; see how you like it. But be careful and use precautions if you have already color treated hair and/or a perm.
